六、内容简介：

In this seminar, we explore the challenges of dense and sparse information fusion for the reconstruction of the physical fields (e.g. temperature, humidity, velocity, etc.) of an indoor environment. The physical fields are crucial information in many energy-efficient system design problems and they can be used to quantify the operating conditions and efficiency of these systems. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation is essentially the de facto tool to estimate the dense indoor physical fields but has its limitations. Therefore, a new method that can incorporate real-time but sparse sensing information to rapidly obtain accurate reconstruction of indoor physical fields is of theoretical and practical interest. In this talk, we shall discuss how sparse sensor observations can be effectively fused with CFD physical fields.

七、主讲人简介：

Yeng Chai SOH，新加坡南洋理工大学电气与电子工程学院教授，新加坡工程院院士。博士毕业于澳大利亚University of Newcastle获得控制工程博士学位，本科毕业于新西兰University of Canterbury获得电气与电子工程学士学位。博士毕业后加入新加坡南洋理工大学，曾担任控制与仪器仪表系主任、电气与电子工程学院副院长和工程学院副院长，南洋理工大学高性能计算中心创始主任和新加坡科学技术研究局A*STAR智能系统和传感器网络委员会主席等。Soh教授的研究兴趣主要包括鲁棒控制与估计、分散和分布式控制与优化、网络控制系统、传感器网络与传感器融合、机器学习及其在节能系统中的应用等。在《Automatica》、《IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control》等国际知名学术期刊发表高水平研究论文300余篇。
